How much does it cost to remove a UST?
The average UST removal costs $1,100-$2,500 depending on the access, location of tank, size of tank and landscaping to be re-established.
Is pumping an additional cost?
Typically if there is no access to the fill pipe the amount of liquid product is unknown & pumping is additional.
Can I abandon my UST in place?
Yes, but considering this option is no less expensive, Tanktech highly recommends removing it. In doing so, future liability is alleviated.
How often an UST’s leak?
In our experience recently, Tanktech has found approximately one in five UST’s to be leaking, more and more each year.
Can you tell if a UST has leaked before it’s removed?
In some cases there are obvious signs of a leaking UST; the odour of fuel oil in or near building, oil in your sump or external drains and/or ditches.
What’s the life expectancy of an underground storage tank?
The life span of an underground storage tank without a protective membrane is approximately 15-20 years.
